"I went to Chateau Kefraya last April with a friend of mine from Abu Dhabi, after spending several days in Beirut. After searching online for day trips and testing some Chateau Kefraya wines at the supermarket, we decided to spend a day at the Chateau. After a very interesting trip by taxi, we arrived to Kefraya after approximately 3 hours of driving. The Chateau is situated next to a beautiful "mountain" and the colors in April were fantastic. However, it was quite cold so be prepared! We didn't do a formal tour, but instead ate at the restaurant and had a free wine tasting in the main building. We would have loved to take the tour, but we would have had to wait for another hour and it was already getting late to return to Beirut. The food at the restaurant was average, but I do remember that the suggested wine pairing was delicious...as well as the bread! The wine tasting was fantastic, and I bought several wines to take home to the USA with me. The dessert wine is definitely the most unforgettable. On the downside, the place appeared to need a fresh coat of paint and the staff weren't the most friendly. Additionally, the location is quite inconvenient if you haven't rented a car or speak/ read Arabic. We had a very bad experience with a taxi from Beirut and wouldn't recommend taking this route unless you're prepared to pay a lot of money. Next time, I'll try to go in warmer weather, take the tour, and stay the night somewhere near Chateau Kefraya!"
"Chateau Kefraya is a must when you are in Lebanon. It is one of a kind place where you can really discover & see all processes of wine making. Wine tasting becomes an unforgettable experience where all your senses come alive... I have visited Chateau Kefraya more than 4 times and every visit feels different and special. The breathtaking views capture your heart and soul. There is a nice restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast or lunch!"
